The Ferry Street Bridge neighborhood is home to many nice parks, shopping opportunities, and is close to the Willamette River, Downtown Eugene, and the University of Oregon.
Bordered by the Willamette River to the South, and McKenzie River to the North, Ferry Street Bridge offers several dog parks, community gardens, and other amenities that make Eugene a unique place to live.
It is an area known to be somewhat more politically conservative than areas South of the River, with a unique and modern outdoor shopping experience at Oakway Center. Oakway is home to the City's annual tree lighting ceremony, and hosts a summer concert series along with other special events.
A lot of homes in the Ferry Street Bridge area were built in the 60s and 70s as one-level Ranch-style homes with large yards (up to .50 acre). As the City has grown, large yards have become rare, especially as single-family-zoning disappears in the years ahead due to a State of Oregon law designed to prepare housing for greater population density and more affordable housing options for all.
